Ibibo Web, owned by Naspers and Tencent, has appointed Krishna Motukuri as managing director of its ecommerce business division which runs Tradus.in, TradusAds.in, Gaadi.com And GoIbibo.com. This move follows the exit of Rahul Sethi, president of ibibo’s ecommerce division, who has left the the company last month to launch his own ecommerce startup.
Prior to this, Krishna Motukuri was the associate director at Amazon till 2006, when he raised venture funding to start Ugenie, a comparison shopping site.
Ugenie was acquired in 2008 by Lulu.com, where he became Senior Vice President of Business Development.
Krishna has lots of entrepreneurial and ecommerce experience which will enable us to further scale our current properties and develop new ones,” said Ashish Kashyap, group CEO, Ibibo Web.
